Taking notes about things you need to think about or need to do can be helpful to some extent, but you can end up with hundreds of notes that you never look at again. Much like I rarely go back and browse what I posted here 2 years ago. It kind of has an expiry date. Things you wrote down years ago are mostly of historical interest because they get irrelevant soon enough.
