I'm not naive either, but I do not rejoice in the prospect of the extinction of any species, and I do have a bit of... loyalty? ... attachment? ... whatever you want to call it... to my own species, as it has coalesced for millennia to the present, to my life, to my experience. I value that. You seem not to. You seem, even, to take a perverse satisfaction in the idea of a singularity that will render everything that came before in order to create the circumstances of your very existence
