Motherfuck the gig economy. My kid just did their taxes. After deductions and all that, they had about $7000 in net income, then $3000 in taxes on it because Rover says "they're not employees LOL”. Because Rover (and Uber and Lyft and…) want to evade taxes, my kid is paying a freaking 43% tax rate on minimum wages.
