It was written by editorial staff at the Portland Mercury as part of a gag column called "Frank Cassano's Imbecile Parade," where a question was featured each week, along with a few (again, made-up) answers, each of which was followed by a bit of color commentary from "Frank Cassano" (again, the Mercury's editorial staff) at the end.
