FWIW I strongly recommend getting the mpox vaccine if you can (it's at some CVS in the US). The mpox vaccine also helps prevent smallpox. It's two shots 28 days apart and for me the side effects were minimal. I got a shot in afternoon, felt out of sorts in evening, then fine next day. The second shot was even less noticeable. My doc in SF had seen a few cases and was like GET IT even if you're not the target group for mpox. He described it as *extremely* painful and disfiguring.
