I am still :ablobcatsweatsip: ing (nprofile…5dmj) I should say, for all the immense disdain I have for HR, there was actually one HR dept that was good. They were completely hamstrung by management, who did all the hiring, firing, discipline, and policy themselves. All the HR people did was give you forms when you asked and have helpful answers about this year's benefits plans.

The lesson is NEVER give your HR people ANY power, at all. Reduce them to the simple bureaucrats they're supposed to be. There is zero reason for them to feel important or empowered about anything.
