The fact that a majority of African-Americans have European gene markers new to their lineages after the Haitian Revolution should give all of us pause. Yes - this means that slave owners & their overseers were systematically raping enslaved women & girls. Yes - white passing folks also have African gene markers from this time period. It was never about “states rights”. It was about profits, control, and ultimately man-dominated white supremacy. Roe v Wade is a seatmate here.
