This is a good story and not because you made a financial decision, that seems to be right based on knowledge and faith.
But because as a family, the basic unit, together you guys invested into your wife and her future directly.
You shared the pie what you have, for a future larger and happier pie. Where the money came from, is the less important part of the story in my view.
