Naloxone does not reverse opioid overdose. Naloxone ***TEMPORARILY*** blocks the opioid receptors, which ***TEMPORARILY*** keeps someone who has overdosed from dying. I cannot stress this highly enough. If you give someone Naloxone and sober them up, you ***MUST NOT*** allow them to go home without going to the hospital, because they will go home, lie down, the Naloxone will wear off, and they'll die there instead.
I can't prove this without doxxing myself, but I've got training in Naloxone and my trainer was insistent on this. Naloxone doesn't "cure" overdoses. It briefly postpones them. Briefly. By all means, please use it, but call the goddamn EMTs too because they have the stuff which will keep someone who has overdosed from dying permanently.
