Its been like that since ancient Athens since aristides the just a great statesman famous as the "just" suggest for his impartiality met a citizen (who didn't know how aristides looked) on the day a vote was being cast on whether aristides was to be exiled. Aristides asked him what he ll vote and the citizen said to exile this "aristides the just". Aristides asked why? If this aristides had somehow harmed him. The citizen said no, he's never seen him (obviously) in fact he had never heard of him before this vote.
Aristides perplexed asked "then why vote against him"?
The citizen said that he hated that they called him "the just" because it implied that himself was unjust.
He failed or refused to see of course that by his vote he proved that he indeed was unjust. That was 2500 years ago when democracy was only for white men who were by law soldiers and at least 3 generations deep blood related to Athens. So what do you expect now?RT:
