For backpacking and daily I went Patagonia. My goretexes always got destroyed quickly or delaminated. So I decided to just get a H2No ( Torrentshell) The thing about goretex is it wasn't designed for daily use. So in a lot of the cases I have found a softshell or a wool sweater do just as well. Not sure this helped.
