No problem with water splash from passing cars, too. Only when you have to wait at a traffic light and the wind blows really strong you have some on your arm or legs.
You don't need to dress up especially like on a bicycle or motorcycle. Just wear the same as you would waiting for the bus.
In general it is very practical for daily use, no matter the weather. For four years I am using it more or less daily and it servers me well.
