If economy was taught in schools/high schools, people would know that there exists a thing called the "point of diminishing returns" where paying more for a service or product (or good) will not result in a better service or product. So any extra money spent past that point results in a complete waste.
Of course our schools are only engineered to create mindless workers, so people does not value their money. Which is very positive for our system.
