wow distrobox pretty much solves any remaining doubts i had about daily driving #postmarketOS on a laptop.
Set up a fedora container, install vscode, ran "distrobox-export code", manually copied over the icon (/usr/share/pixmaps) - which imo should be done automatically but whatever.
had to also install busybox/ash in the container since vscode seems to try and run it for some reason (even though i use zsh on the host??)
vscode also can't launch a browser to sign in so had to do that manually (it keeps offering alternative methods).
but with that honestly not toooo bad fiddling done it all just works, i can go install whatever glibc-specific proprietary stuff I want in the box and just run it like normal (home directory is mapped and everything)
