I updated my contractors agreement/contract to be specific about travel costs and 'on call' costs. The latter came when a client asked me to be on standby to come onto a call and I charged them for the hours I waited on standby. They didn't understand until I explained to them that "on standby"meant instantly interruptible to be on the call, hence I couldn't do anything else. So I charge for that.
