Here’s how my interactions on Bluesky go talking about nostr and some of the responses I get
“But there are racists on nostr! Even if it’s decentralized the community makes the experience.”
Me: ok well I just mute users who don’t engage productively or I don’t care to see
“But the founder is a fascist and Jack Dorsey gave him money!!”
Me: nostr has no ceo or owner. It’s an open protocol with many clients, and growing, and decentralized relays. What does this have to do with anything?
That’s basically the main criticism. And it’s bullshit. People cannot comprehend that I would rather spend time on a truly open, free speech platform, where I can also control who and what I see. Some people think the world ends if free and open speech exists.
No, the world ends when free speech is abandoned, and online communication is censored and centrally controlled.
