Yup. There are so many good things trees can do and unfortunately we are now fucked for having them near homes in fire-prone areas.

I do think an interdisciplinary project on this would be helpful. Need to look at research and find the sweet spot as far as how far away it needs to be but how close it can still be.

I had an extraordinary experience with a research field of black poplars here. Even standing near by was like standing in air conditioning. It was jaw-dropping.
