If realpolitik is a group making decisions to chart course of our civilisation in a vacuum of morality, it's no wonder that one of the recurring event throughout our history is: war. The first casualty of war is always morality. It's inevitable for the ruling elites -- who operate in a space where morality is relative or completely absent -- to undergo messiah-complex where they see themselves as the locus of what is good and evil. At this stage, delusion and hubris sets in, and masses revolt. Morality dies, then truth and then the ability to debate with humility - the fabric of society unravels into pandemonium, unless a return to fundamental principles with naive thinking is fostered, again.
