The most annoying thing about the mainstream reporting about De Santis and Black folk "benefiting" from slavery by learning skills is that the pushback is just "slavery is evil," not, "slavery is evil AND the colonies then the US benefited from the agricultural and other skills Africans brought with them." It's the same idea with Native Americans - as if the Europeans were the only ones with skills and knowledge. I hate the enduring nature of white supremacy.
