Every time I look at this photo, I'm amazed that it turned out as nicely as it did. Aquariums are notoriously dark and the inhabitants rarely hold still so longer shutter speeds are tricky, and a long telephoto lens handheld with manual focus doesn't make that any easier.
There's a lot of patience and luck in this shot.
