Understood and I'm not in strict meet camp. Most people I know refer to that as the lion diet. I went strict and slowly reintroduced foods but still keep them limited.
While a true Paleo is sensible (I think most carnivores agree), I think the way it's often conveyed or interpreted includes a higher amount of that food that would have been consumed only a few months out of the year. People don't stumble across a few nuts or fruit in the wild now days they keep a bowl full.
Honestly I think that's the reason carnivore has gained traction. People tried Paleo as it's usually directed but had to reduce even more. Maybe that diet shouldn't be called carnivore but it's just the way I and those I know learned of it.
