In 1955, the US Government imported foreign chimpanzees to infect with disease for the purposes of replicating viruses in monkey kidneys, to the tune of 200k chimps in '55.

When one of the imported monkeys exhibited illness, termed "Chimpanzee Coryza Agent", the Government staff at Walter Reed purposefully infected other monkeys with the unknown illness "for science".

The staff became ill and spread disease among the general population.

CCA would later be called RSV.
