And so, with the year barely begun, we get news of more GP Practices refusing to prescribe HRT for transgender patients with the obvious risks to health that this poses, especially for those who have had GRS and whose bodies do not naturally produce hormones which of course, are necessary for health. I myself haven't yet had GRS but after years on blockers and Estradiol, even after a few days without HRT I am quite ill.

Frankly, the refusal to write prescriptions for the medication which consultant specialists have prescribed should be seen as what it is, transphobia led medical malpractice.

"Jubilee Park Medical Partnership, which runs practices in the East Midlands region, announced on Monday (30 December) that it would stop prescribing the medication to all transgender patients. Those currently on HRT, won’t get repeat prescriptions.

Protest group Nottingham against Transphobia issued a statement following the announcement, calling the decision “deeply misguided”.

“It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks about HRT, if practices stop supplying it, the need for it doesn’t magically disappear,” a spokesperson for the group wrote on social media. "
