I was homeschooled as a child. One thing that helped me and my siblings stay on track was a schedule for each day of the week.
We used Excel to make a timeline for the day (15-minute increments). We arranged each class in order (Mom gave us the subjects but we could choose which ones to do first, second and third etc.). We estimated the amount of time that each subject would take and filled out the schedule accordingly. Then we colored in each block of time with different colored pencils because that was fun 😊
This turned schoolwork into a game of sorts where we tried to beat the schedule each day. If I focused on my work, then I could get done by lunchtime. If I dawdled along then the schoolwork would stretch into the afternoon, and I might be stuck working while my sisters got to play.
If we really didn't do our schoolwork, then we had to sit at the kitchen table with mom and do it after dinner. This was something that we tried to avoid at all costs!
