The FT has got itself in a bit of a twist; saying Labour needs to get behind business, it argues firstly that:
Labour needs to 'simplify Britain’s byzantine tax system, with its array of codes, reliefs and thresholds'...
but then says:
'the government could widen the types of expenditures that qualify for full expensing tax reliefs'.
Err.... so you want to simply but widen the tax relief system for business.
Why not just say you want to reduce (further) business taxation?
