I'm trying to put my finger on what annoys me about the representation of #researchers ( #academicchatter ) in #media ( #writing ).
Is it that they don't teach? Not doing admin? Not drowning in stupid internal politics? Institutional loyalty?
That people don't just switch to another topic to chase the zeitgeist? That no one seems to publish? That no experiment have any duplications?
That a grant is do-or-die rather than okay-on-to-the-next-one? That conferences are these dramatic things?
