That’s impressive Melissa, I admire you for being able to sustain it. I think that perhaps the ages of your children could play a part and of course how many you have. Then there is also your needs and how much instability and movement you can handle individually.
Look Costa Rica from the outside is all beautiful beaches, wildlife and pura vida. It seems to give out this all is perfect and we are so westernised vibes. For sure it’s beautiful and there are very developed parts where all the gringos go to holiday and stay in resorts. As a travelling living around the locals and seeking to experience the wider countryside and culture it’s a country of extreme mismatch between the haves and have nots. Its prices are massively overinflated, the cost of living is ridiculous for a developing country with such average infrastructure and the Ticos are really struggling to get by. The poverty is real there.
I can’t help but wonder where all the money from tourism goes?
