If you are not aware, as a once and possibly future mobile phone app developer: apps exist to send you notifications that you don’t want. They are largely a tool to “reactivate” (industry term) dormant customers. That’s why every website pesters you to install an app. If whatever you are doing involves high speed access to network, phone sensors and phone storage, then an app has advantages for you. Otherwise the advantages are all for the vendor.
