Yeah flattening end grain boards with one of those 13” planars is tricky. I’ve done it but chamfering the end of the board or glueing a sacrificial piece on the end to prevent tear out but it’s super risky. Making a sled for a router to ride along with a nice flattening bit also works but if you’ve got a CNC you’re laughing.
