The one lesson I wish people would finally learn is this:
You aren't a customer in relation to your government.
You can't boycott your way to better service.
Boycotting (withholding your participation) in a democracy (even a failing one) is just obedience.
So many people think they're being rebellious and principled but they're just obedient little serfs doing as they're told.
They just don't recognize the nature of the authority they are obeying.
They are unwitting Republicans.
