Officials in Bend, Oregon have asked residents to stop attaching googly eyes to the city’s sculptures, says The NY Times. The features have been added to 8 installations, including a family of deer looking caught in the headlights and a 6ft sphere “brought to life”. The adhesive eyes have gone down well with residents, but bureaucrats have spent more than $1,500 removing them. They “might give you a chuckle”, they wrote on Instagram, but “it costs money to remove them and not damage the art”.
