I'll admit I'm largely clueless about the issues facing black folks in the US, but I assume two things:
1: Black people are acutely aware of the bigotry and systematic oppression they face.
2: If they say it's a problem, then it's a problem. Full stop.
Bonus point: This is true of any vulnerable minority group, and doubly so for people who are members of multiple such groups—queer black women for example.
