š„ Tonight's movie was Kenji Mizoguchiās āUgetsuā (1953), following a recommendation from Hideo Kojima's Closet Picks. It's both a fable and a ghost story and a masterclass in cinematography in beautiful black and white and slow camera movements. The acting is superb and theatrical. The sound design (like cannons and gunfire at the beginning for a sense of urgency, threat and immediate danger) and the music really helps creating that eerie atmosphere in certain other scenes. Well worth a watch.
