Back when I was a mod for the Curvy Sewing Collective, we banned the word "flattering" because it was a euphemism for "makes you look thinner" and that shouldn't always be to goal of sewing as an art form. I always thought that was odd but went along with it. Now, I am looking at what I like to sew and what I like to wear and how I'm not so sure that what I am making is actually flattering.
