New study: The US Endangered Species Act (#ESA) requires use of the “best available science” for determining the status of a given species. But the best science on individual taxa & regions is usually published in journals with low journal impact factors (#JIF). We must "value & fund the taxa- & region-specific science that underpins actionable #conservation laws" regardless of JIF.
