In addition to the lupine, the upper field has a good amount of this yellow fiddleneck: Menzies Fiddleneck. This is a close up of one flower. The plant itself is 3-4 feet tall and rangy with multiple branches of these blossoms. It is a Calif. native that is similar in appearance to the blue fiddlenecks.
