Everyone is free to create tools to shape the bitcoin protocol to their will but I disagree with the positioning in this article.
To gatekeep a use case just because it wasn’t mentioned in the white paper is an interesting choice. Arguably bitcoin already looks very different than what Satoshi envisioned. Segwit? Taproot? Store of value narrative vs. digital p2p cash narrative? The cool part about BIPs is that they make the protocol elastic. Something not working? Change it.
Also, the CP argument against ordinals feels speculative. If the possibility of disseminating CP and getting taken down for it worries you then you should be reluctant to host a Nostr relay for those same reasons.
