Despite the fact that we have deer wandering through our yard and down our driveway, I still stop with a sense of awe when I encounter them while I'm out hiking.
Perhaps they seem more wild, out in the wild. They're definitely alert, and the glimpse I get of them is often just that -- a glimpse, before they all break into a run.
