In the real world, anyone who has heard of Mastodon has heard it's failing, it's on its way out, it's not a good alternative, it's for nerds and weirdos, it will attack your children, and nobody uses it. So stick to saying the Fediverse, because big media hasn't yet gotten around to poisoning that well.
