As there’s much debate about whether we should confiscate frozen #Russia assets held in Europe and UK “because law”, just keep in mind that Russia itself doesn’t have such sentiments. For the last three years Russia had been confiscating up to 65% assets of Western companies leaving Russia and in 2024 it has increased to 95%:
The Russian entity/assets must be sold at a mandatory discount of at least 60% (instead of 50%).
The ‘voluntary’ exit tax paid to the Russian budget is now 35% (instead of 15%).
