It's very well thought out, especially regarding metadata privacy; even the server host can't track user messages on their hosted servers/relay.
Other privacy-related features, like incognito mode, provide an extra layer of anonymity on top of your already anonymous account.
On the downside, they are VC and billionaire funded, so things could change at any time.
Hopefully, we will have our own truly private DMs very soon.
