Far out! I took 2.5 years in high school...five or six people in the class. We read most of the Odyssey, A Reading Course in Homeric Greek, both books, then some years later, I finished the Odyssey and tackled the Iliad on my own for kicks. I *sort* of made it through with lots of help from a translation, trying to figure out every line before reading the translation. Not always with a lot of success, but, I think I can honestly say that I've read them both in the original. 8^)
