We also pick up on statistical structure and regularities. Like that lovely trick where you ask someone to say silk five times, then spell it out, and then you ask them what cows drink and everyone says milk. That doesn't indicate a lack of intelligence, it's just that part of our intelligence is picking up on associations and regularities, and sometimes that tricks us.
