I know someone who has a sister-in-law who refuses to call anyone by any name other than the “first” name they were born with. She won’t call me Ben, but rather, Benjamin, and if she ever found out that’s not my first name, she would insist on calling me by my first name. I have no idea why she thinks like this, but I do know someone else who considers it “lying, in the eyes of God.”
