Here is my suggestion for a beginners telescope.
Look for a Celestron Omni AZ 102 Refractor on ebay for around $200 plus or minus $50. Preferably in original box so it ships protected well.
Alternatively look for an 8" Dobsonian mounted Newtonian Reflector on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist for a bit more and pick it up without shipping.
