Alright, I crunched the numbers for the p⭕dcast.
There are currently between 15,000 to 20,000 daily Nostr users, with about 40,000 weekly active users. The ⭕ is definitely growing, but the ⭕G core is at around 10-15 npubs.
I genuinely think we can corner 0.1% of the Nostr ecosystem, especially with the personalities in our group. That translates to 40 views per episode. Totally doable, considering 10-15 of us would count as views anyway. With a modest 1% weekly growth rate, we’d hit roughly 67 viewers by year-end. That might sound small, but it would actually place us among the top shows on zap.stream.
Currently, around 1.5 million sats are zapped daily. If we lock down just 0.1% of that, we’re talking 1,500 sats per episode. According to my charting (which includes both technical analysis and planetary alignments), those sats will be worth about $15 by the end of the year.
And if we can get Sats involved, there’s a real shot at USAID funding to grow our strategic ⭕ reserve. In Canada, the government blew $2M CAD on podcasts that got fewer than 10 listens per episode. We’re easily 10x that audience, so a 5x budget ask should be the bare minimum.
Depending on which intelligence agency Sats reports to, we can even rotate having a trans guest... or one of us can identify as trans on a rotating basis. Equitable, diverse, inclusive, and potentially more funding. Win-win-win.
