I’m not saying that I agree with the theory, but the idea behind the case is thatit is illegal for companies to collude in ways that are anti-competitive. Calling for boycotts is fine, because anyone can choose to do it or not. But if a few businesses agree, even informally or tacitly, to blackball another business entiry, it at least raises the issue of whether it’s an agreement to restrain trade. I think it’s a poor argument, because I dont see the anticompetitive effect here, but in general collusive activity, if it can be shown to exist (and normally its very hard to do so), can raise courts eyebrows. In general thiw case strikes me as a silly move, but we will see.
