Anecdotally I am the only person on my local group of technical friends who does not pay. It’s not like they don’t know how to block ads. Some pay because it makes the content creators more money.
I personally only follow like two “content creators.” YouTube is more a source for information than entertainment. I don’t like most of the entertainment TBH.
