A quarter of US renters spend half their income on housing.
This is in no small part due to the price-fixing scheme all of the 6 biggest apartment companies took part in.
Even if rental markets were working well, which they aren't, we should still question why we would want private companies profiting off this necessary good. Seems like there is ample room for improvement here.
