Your private key is derived from your seed phrase. Any wallet you enter your seed phrase into now stores your private key. The worst hardware wallet imaginable would leak your keys and thus give someone access to your bitcoin. The best wallet will store them in an offline and secure manner, which is why options like coldcard are popular.
